Folk art on a hanging hoop, 18.5 (7.5in) The Maiden.
A larger, beaded embroidery on linen and backed with cotton and ready to hang, no need to frame.
Created by free motion and hand embroidery, richly beaded by hand, a female imaginary portrait of a young woman surrounded by flowers and wearing a lavish headdress. Many hours have gone into the making of this piece, from sketch to finished design.
Flying Home - is a hand stitched black bird carrying home a blossoming branch to build her nest. Stitched on natural linen on a background of free motion stitching, with hand embroidery, tapestry style and lots of hand beading.
The bird motif is recessed giving the whole piece a 3D look, with a depth of 7mm approx and has a very tactile quality.
The actual embroidery measures 7x7cm approx.
All my designs are original and many begin in my sketchbook, as rough sketched ideas that I refine when I begin sewing, others are sewn as I sit at the machine, with a vague idea of what I want to create.
Comes framed or unframed.
